The Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Talent Identification Programme (TID) has entered the final stage of its nationwide search for promising young footballers, with the selection exercise moving to the Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions.
The latest phase of the 2026 Elite Academy Schools selection will take place at Nana Ofosu Gyeabour Park in the Brong Ahafo Region and Urban Park in the Ashanti Region, where some of the country’s most outstanding young talents will undergo a final assessment.
The programme, which seeks to discover and develop future football stars, has been designed to identify players with exceptional ability, discipline and the commitment required to balance sporting development with academic success.
A total of 72 young footballers, including boys and girls from the two regions, are expected to participate in the final phase. The participants will be assessed by the GFA’s trained and accredited technical team and talent scouts, who will evaluate their skills, potential and overall suitability for the next stage of their football journey.
Players who successfully emerge from the final selection process will gain admission into the GFA’s Elite Academy Schools located at Bolgatanga Senior High School, Prempeh College in Kumasi and Achimota School in Accra.
At these institutions, the selected players will receive structured football training while pursuing quality education, creating a pathway that combines academic growth with professional football development.
