Three years, three finals for Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho has created one of the most unusual records in European football after appearing in three different European finals with three different clubs in three consecutive seasons.

The 26-year-old came on as a substitute for Aston Villa during the 2026 UEFA Europa League final against SC Freiburg in Istanbul.

Aston Villa produced a dominant performance to win 3-0 and lift the trophy, while Sancho added another European final appearance to his growing list.

This appearance completed an extraordinary run for the England international. In 2024, Sancho started for Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium.

Although Dortmund lost 2-0, Sancho was one of the team’s standout performers during their impressive journey to the final.

A year later, Sancho joined Chelsea and made an even bigger impact. He scored in the UEFA Conference League final as Chelsea defeated Real Betis 4-1 to win the trophy.

Now in 2026, Sancho has featured in the Europa League final with Aston Villa, becoming one of the few players to appear in the finals of all three major UEFA club competitions, the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, in three straight seasons and with three different clubs.

Despite facing several challenges in recent years, Sancho continues to show his quality on Europe’s biggest stages.
