Asante Kotoko has introduced new guidelines restricting access to its training sessions at the club’s Adako Jachie training ground as part of measures to improve its preparations ahead of competitive matches.
According to the club, supporters, media representatives and other unauthorised individuals will not be allowed to attend training sessions during the three days leading up to every competitive fixture.
The new directive takes immediate effect and is aimed at giving the technical team a private and uninterrupted environment to work on tactical plans ahead of matches.
The club said the decision is also intended to prevent unauthorised recording of training sessions, particularly tactical exercises and other strategic preparations that could provide opponents with information about the team’s plans.
However, supporters and members of the media will continue to have access to training sessions outside the restricted three-day period.
Asante Kotoko said the decision does not signal a move away from its relationship with the media or its supporters.
Instead, the club said it will continue to provide opportunities for journalists to engage with players and officials through periodic Media Open Days.
The Media Open Days are expected to allow reporters to interact with members of the playing and technical teams while also giving the club an opportunity to maintain communication with the public.
The club has therefore appealed to supporters and media partners to respect the new guidelines and cooperate with officials at the training ground.
The measure comes as Asante Kotoko continues preparations for the 2026/27 football season, with the club looking to improve its competitiveness and achieve its targets in domestic and continental competitions.
