Ghana has announced a 23-man squad for this month’s international friendly against Mexico, blending experienced players with promising young talents.
The team includes stars from both the domestic league and top European clubs, as head coach Carlos Queiroz continues to assess his options ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
Several key names stand out in the squad. Midfielder Majeed Ashimeru makes a welcome return after a long injury layoff that limited his involvement at both club and national level.
Forward Felix Afena-Gyan is also back in the team. His last appearance for Ghana came in May last year during the Unity Cup match against Trinidad and Tobago in London.
The squad also features exciting young talents. Among them are Abdul Aziz Issah of Barcelona B, Ebenezer Annan of AS Saint-Étienne, and Ibrahim Osman of Birmingham City.
Ajax youngster Paul Reverson has also earned a call-up, highlighting the focus on developing future stars.
From the domestic league, Medeama SC midfielder Salim Adams leads the group of home-based players. He is joined by Ebenezer Abban of Heart of Lions, Ebenezer Adade of Dreams FC, and Nations FC captain Razak Simpson.
Ghana is scheduled to travel to Mexico on Friday, May 22, 2026, for the friendly match. The game is expected to serve as an important test for the team as they prepare for the June international assignment.
