A fuel tanker driver and his pregnant wife have been brutally murdered in Tema in what police suspect to be a robbery-related incident, with a man believed to be a soldier currently on the run.
The victims, identified as Ebenezer Kwabena and his partner, were found dead in their apartment at Immigration House on Saki Road in the High Tension Immigration area of Golf City on May 1, 2026.
Their bodies were discovered in pools of blood, while their three-year-old daughter was found alive in the same room.
The suspected attacker had only recently become acquainted with the couple, reportedly befriending them about two weeks before the incident.
He was said to have been spending time with the victims and occasionally going out with them.
Investigations suggest that the suspect may have targeted the victims after learning that the deceased had received a large sum of money intended for fuel purchases.
It is alleged that on April 29, after returning from an outing, the suspect attacked and killed both victims before fleeing with the cash, believed to be proceeds from fuel sales.
The suspect, reportedly identified as Prince Krah and believed to be a soldier recently transferred from Takoradi to Tamale, is said to have left the couple’s young child alone in the room with the bodies for several days without food or water.
The Ghana Police Service, through the Saki Police Command, has retrieved the bodies and deposited them at the morgue for autopsy. A manhunt has been launched for the suspect, who remains at large.
Authorities have yet to release a full official statement, but investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the killings.
