C/R: NACOC arrests 10 suspected drug offenders

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested 10 individuals suspected of drug offenses during an intelligence-driven operation conducted across various communities in Cape Coast, located in the Central Region.

This coordinated operation focused on areas identified as hotspots for suspected drug trafficking and abuse, including Pedu, Victoria Road, the University of Cape Coast (UCC) vicinity, Downtown, and other key locations.

According to NACOC, this initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to combat the illicit drug trade and enhance public safety.

The Commission reported that officers executed simultaneous raids at multiple sites, resulting in the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of items believed to be associated with illegal narcotics activities.

The suspects, comprising both men and women aged between 24 and 55, are currently aiding in the investigations.

NACOC stated that the confiscated items will be subjected to further analysis as part of the Commission’s inquiry into the suspected drug-related activities.

The Commission emphasised that this operation reflects its dedication to dismantling drug trafficking networks and decreasing the presence of illicit substances in communities.

The suspects are anticipated to be processed in accordance with the law once the investigations are completed.
