Black Princesses touch down in Poland ahead of U20 World Cup

Ghana’s Black Princesses have left Accra for Krakow, Poland, as preparations intensify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The team departed Ghana in the early hours of Sunday, August 16, 2026, with the squad expected to continue its preparations in Poland ahead of the global tournament.

The remaining members of the team are expected to join the squad at camp in Krakow, where the technical team will use the training period to fine-tune preparations and assess the players ahead of the competition.

As part of their preparations, the Black Princesses are scheduled to play a number of friendly matches in Poland. The games are expected to give the players valuable match practice and help the technical team identify areas that need improvement before the World Cup begins.

Ghana have been drawn in Group C alongside Ecuador, Korea Republic and France, setting up a challenging group-stage campaign for the African side.

The Black Princesses will begin their World Cup campaign against Ecuador on September 6, 2026. They will then face the Republic and France as they battle for a place in the knockout stages.
