ECG announces scheduled power outages in Kumasi

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced scheduled power outages in various communities throughout the Ashanti Region to facilitate planned maintenance on its distribution network. 

In a statement released on Sunday, July 19, ECG indicated that the maintenance activities will take place on Tuesday, July 21, and Wednesday, July 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on both days.

The company clarified that the temporary disruption in electricity supply is essential for engineers to perform critical maintenance tasks aimed at enhancing the reliability and efficiency of power delivery.

On Tuesday, July 21, the maintenance will impact Ahwiaa, Medoma, Buokrom, Buokrom Estate F-Line, Buokrom Estate D-Line, South Africa, Truba, and adjacent communities.

A subsequent phase of the maintenance program on Wednesday, July 22, will affect Old Tafo, New Road Junction, and nearby areas.

ECG also announced additional outages on the same day for residents of Bonwire, Amanpe, Adanwomase, Baman, and surrounding communities.

Furthermore, electricity supply will be disrupted in Kumaca, Asokore Mampong, the Royal Foam Factory vicinity, CCC, the Asokore Mampong Municipal area, and neighboring localities.

According to ECG, these maintenance activities are part of its continuous efforts to reinforce the electricity distribution network and enhance the quality and stability of power supply for customers.

The company expressed regret for any inconvenience the planned outages may cause and requested the patience and cooperation of customers in the affected areas.

“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the company stated.
