Ghana’s Black Princesses made a strong statement ahead of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after recording a convincing 4-0 victory over Polish side Sleza Wroclaw in their first international friendly in Poland.
The Ghanaian team dominated the game from the start and took the lead in the 35th minute through Jacqueline Ntoso. The forward calmly finished an opportunity to put the Black Princesses ahead.
Ghana continued to control possession and created several chances before the break but failed to add to their advantage. Sleza Wroclaw struggled to match the pace and quality of the visitors as the first half ended 1-0.
The Black Princesses increased their pressure after the restart and were rewarded when Priscilla Mensah doubled the lead following a pass from Ruth Amponsah.
Amponsah then moved from provider to scorer a few minutes later, finding the back of the net in the 70th minute to put Ghana firmly in control.
Diana Amoako completed the scoring with a powerful long-range effort as the Black Princesses finished the match with a comfortable 4-0 victory.
The result will give head coach Charles Sampson further encouragement as he continues to prepare his squad for the World Cup.
Ghana arrived in Poland earlier this month and have been using the training camp and friendly matches to improve their fitness, teamwork and tactics.
The Black Princesses are set to play another friendly before beginning their World Cup campaign.
Ghana has been drawn in Group C alongside Ecuador, South Korea and France. The team will face Ecuador in their opening match on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Arena Sosnowiec. They will then play South Korea on September 9 before meeting France on September 12.
The tournament will be played in Poland from September 5 to 27. Ghana are making their eighth consecutive appearance and will be hoping to progress beyond the group stage for the first time in the team’s history.
