The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a new prize package for Regional Colts champions as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots football development across the country.
Under the new arrangement, each Regional Colts champion will receive GH¢10,000 in prize money, a complete set of playing jerseys and 10 footballs at the end of the season.
GFA President and CAF 2nd Vice-President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku announced the package during the official launch of the 2026/27 Colts Football Season at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The initiative forms part of the GFA’s wider investment in Colts football and is aimed at giving greater support to Regional Football Associations (RFAs) in organising and developing football at the grassroots level.
The financial reward will provide recognition for clubs that emerge as regional champions, while the jerseys and footballs are expected to give the clubs additional equipment for their activities.
The GFA said the package is also intended to improve resources available to Colts clubs and create stronger incentives for young players participating in grassroots competitions.
Colts football remains an important part of the country’s football development structure, providing opportunities for young players to compete and develop their abilities before progressing to higher levels of the game.
