Pickford pleads guilty to careless driving after Lamborghini incident

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention after allegedly coming close to causing a road accident while driving his £200,000 Lamborghini.

The Everton goalkeeper appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court after an incident in Knutsford, Cheshire, on April 14. The court heard that Pickford ignored a give-way sign, forcing two other vehicles to brake sharply to avoid a collision.

Pickford, 32, then reportedly accelerated away from the scene, prompting police officers to pursue him. One officer told the court that the goalkeeper was still pulling away even while the police vehicle was travelling at around 50mph in a 30mph zone.

The incident resulted in criminal proceedings for driving without due care and attention, a charge Pickford has now admitted.

The England international is due to return to court on December 7, when he is expected to be sentenced.
