Former Asante Kotoko striker Alex Asamoah, popularly known as “Makweekwe,” has expressed his readiness to return to the Ghana Premier League and compete for the Golden Boot once again.
The experienced forward says he still believes he has enough quality to perform at the highest level and is confident he can challenge for the league’s top-scoring prize if given the opportunity.
Asamoah is remembered for his spell with Asante Kotoko and remains a familiar name among supporters of the Porcupine Warriors. He was part of the club’s squad during a period when the team competed strongly in domestic football.
Asamoah’s confidence is also supported by his history in the domestic game. He scored important goals for Kotoko, including in the club’s 2011 President’s Cup campaign, when he scored against Berekum Chelsea.
“I’m ready for a return in the Ghana Premier League and even win the Golden Boot,” the former striker said.
