A travel and tour agent, Clement Osei-Wusu, has been remanded into lawful custody for allegedly defrauding a civil servant and his relatives of GHC107,000 by falsely promising to secure their recruitment into Ghana’s security services.
Osei-Wusu allegedly offered recruitment slots in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Ghana Police Service (GPS), Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) through a WhatsApp group called “Limited Job Opportunities”.
According to the prosecution, the complainant and his relatives made several payments to the accused between October 2025 and 2026 after being promised recruitment opportunities.
The accused allegedly collected the money but failed to fulfil his promises and later blocked the complainant’s means of communication.
The complainant reported the matter to the police on August 8, 2026, resulting in Osei-Wusu’s arrest. The prosecution said he admitted the offence in his caution statement.
Osei-Wusu has been charged with defrauding by false pretences and pleaded not guilty before an Accra Circuit Court. The court, presided over by Mr Joseph Y. Kunsong, remanded him to reappear on September 22, 2026.
