Primetime Limited has postponed the regional qualifiers for the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) once again, saying the decision was caused by circumstances beyond its control.
In a post shared on Thursday, 9 July, the organisers apologised for the latest delay and assured participating schools and other stakeholders that they would announce a new timetable soon.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, the #RegionalQualifiers has been postponed. We appreciate your understanding and continued support. A new schedule will be announced soon,” the post said.
The latest postponement comes only a few days after Primetime Limited revised the competition’s schedule. At the time, the organisers pushed the start of the regional qualifiers from Monday, 6 July, to Thursday, 9 July 2026.
In an earlier letter to the National President of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), Primetime Limited explained that the first change had also been made because of circumstances beyond its control.
The revised timetable affected schools in the Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, Western and Western North regions, which had originally been scheduled to begin their contests on 6 July.
Primetime Limited asked CHASS to inform its regional executives and all participating schools about the updated dates. It also assured schools and stakeholders that it was working to ensure the competition would run smoothly once the new schedule took effect.
“We assure you that we shall do all within our power to ensure the prompt and smooth running of the competition, according to the new schedule provided,” the organisers said in the earlier statement.
The organisers have not yet announced new dates for the start of the 2026 regional qualifying competition.
