3 children found dead inside parked vehicle in Tamale after going missing

Three children who went missing on Saturday, October 3, 2026, have been found dead inside a parked vehicle at Koblimahagu Zuo in the Tamale Metropolis, sparking grief and shock among residents.

The children, aged three, five and eight, were discovered on Monday morning after a search was launched following their disappearance. The public had also been urged to provide any information that could help locate them.

Authorities have yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the children’s disappearance or determine what caused their deaths.

The Assembly Member for the area, Seidu Fuseini, confirmed that the children had been found in an interview with the media. He said police had taken the vehicle’s owner into custody to assist with investigations.

According to him, the owner told the police that he had locked all the doors of the vehicle before leaving it.

Mohammed Juuna, a relative of one of the deceased children, said in a social media post that the children were discovered trapped inside a stationary vehicle near his brother’s residence in the community.

The remains have since been conveyed to the morgue at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where autopsies are expected to be conducted.

Police have begun investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
