The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako-Mensah, has called for the immediate summoning of the South African High Commissioner to Ghana over concerns regarding the treatment of Ghanaians in South Africa.

According to the MP, the situation requires urgent diplomatic attention, arguing that Ghana must use official channels to demand explanations and ensure the protection of its citizens abroad.

He insisted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should act without delay, stressing that the issue goes beyond public concern and must be addressed at the highest diplomatic level.

“With immediate effect, the South African High Commissioner in Ghana should be summoned by the Foreign Minister to address this issue,” he stated.

The MP further explained that such a step would allow Ghana to formally communicate its concerns and seek clarity on reported incidents involving Ghanaians in South Africa.

The call comes amid growing public discussion over alleged mistreatment and xenophobic attacks against foreign nationals in South Africa.
