The Ghana Police Service has arrested Sibamay Zakaria, who was seen in a viral video attacking another suspect.
According to the police, Sibamay Zakaria is currently in custody, assisting with investigations, and will be brought before the court.
In a statement released on August 13, the police indicated that its Professional Standards Bureau has initiated inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Police Service stated that all individuals found responsible will undergo the appropriate disciplinary procedures.
In a previous statement, the Service vehemently condemned the incident and mentioned that efforts have been heightened to identify, apprehend, and prosecute the individual involved.
The police did not disclose additional details regarding the location of the incident or the circumstances that led to the assault.
However, it is believed the incident occurred at the CID premises.
