The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery attack at a filling station at Nsawam in the Eastern Region.
The suspects, identified as Emmanuel Ofori, 24, and Richard Asante, 27, were picked up following investigations into the robbery incident, which reportedly occurred at a fuel station within the municipality.
According to police sources, the suspects allegedly attacked workers at the filling station. They made away with an undisclosed amount of money and other valuables after threatening staff members during the operation.
The police say intelligence-led investigations and surveillance later led to the arrest of the two suspects at separate hideouts within the area.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects may have been part of a larger robbery network operating within Nsawam and surrounding communities.
Police officials disclosed that some items believed to be connected to the robbery have been retrieved, while efforts are ongoing to track down other accomplices linked to the attack.
A statement from the police said the suspects are currently in custody, assisting with investigations, and will be processed for court after investigations are completed.
The police have assured the public of intensified security operations to combat robbery and other criminal activities within the region.
