The Ghana Police Service has arrested six private security guards in connection with the shooting incident involving former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, at Kwabenya on June 21, 2026.
According to the police, a search conducted after the arrests led to the recovery of five pump-action guns, a Taurus pistol loaded with seven rounds of 9mm ammunition, an extra magazine containing five rounds of 9mm ammunition, and some communication devices.
Preliminary investigations show that officers from the National Operations Directorate and the Intelligence Directorate, who were on a special assignment, responded to a distress call from a residence in Kwabenya and quickly moved to the scene.

Police said they found that a ceremony was taking place at the residence of Mr. Tamakloe Safo Jehoshaphat, popularly known as Akofena, when Adwoa Safo reportedly arrived and requested entry into the premises but was refused access.
Investigators further revealed that armed security personnel stationed at the residence allegedly fired their weapons during the incident, causing injuries to Adwoa Safo. Her vehicle was also found with several gunshot marks.
The six suspects, together with the weapons and other items recovered, have been transferred to the Police Headquarters to assist with ongoing investigations.
The Police Service said efforts are continuing to track down and arrest other individuals who may have been involved in the incident as investigations proceed.
