Police restore calm in Larteh after Odwira festival disturbance

The Eastern Regional Police Command says normalcy has returned to Larteh in the Eastern Region following disturbances recorded during the Ahenase Odwira Festival on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

In a statement issued on Sunday, October 4, the Police Command said it had taken steps to strengthen security in the community following the incident.

Additional police personnel have been deployed to Larteh to maintain law and order and prevent any further disturbances. The move is also intended to provide reassurance to residents and festival participants following the unrest.
