The Agona West Branch Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prince Aboagye, has appeared before the Accra Circuit Court regarding alleged remarks made against former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on social media.
Prince Aboagye arrived at the court today as he faces allegations concerning comments considered offensive towards the former Vice President, with investigations currently underway.
He is alleged to have branded Dr. Bawumia as an infidel unfit for president.
His court appearance occurs amidst increasing public scrutiny of cases involving alleged offensive statements directed at political figures, particularly on social media platforms.
This development follows the recent re-arrest of Aminat Mahama, commonly referred to as ‘Bawumia Ba,’ who was presented before the same court over allegations that she reiterated offensive remarks against President John Dramani Mahama after being granted bail in a previous case.
Aminat Mahama had previously been arrested by the police for alleged offensive comments and threats aimed at President Mahama in videos that circulated on social media.
