The National Lottery Authority (NLA) will discontinue all manual, paper-based lotto operations across the country from Thursday, October 1, 2026.
The directive applies to all Private Lotto Operators (PLOs), agents and writers operating under the Authority.
In a public notice issued on Monday, September 28, the NLA cautioned that operators who continue using the manual system after the deadline will be prohibited from operating and may face legal action.
“All PLOs, Agents, and Writers who fail to comply with this directive will not be permitted to operate and will face the full rigours of the law,” the NLA stated.
The move is part of the Authority’s efforts to enforce the complete cessation of manual, paper-based lotto operations.
Private operators who want to continue in the business have been urged to transition by registering as Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs).
The NLA said interested operators should contact its sales managers at regional or district offices nationwide to start the registration process.

With the October 1 deadline approaching, PLOs, agents and writers still operating through the paper-based system will no longer be allowed to continue under the existing arrangement.
