ECG announces planned maintenance outage in parts of Accra on Friday

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned maintenance exercise that will temporarily interrupt power supply in parts of the Accra East Region on Friday, October 2.

The utility company said the exercise aims to improve service delivery and will affect a number of communities and institutions across the region.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, September 30, ECG stated that the maintenance works would be carried out from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Friday.

Areas expected to be affected include parts of Oyarifa, Ayimensah, Prisons Training School, School Junction and University Farms, along with nearby communities.

ECG explained that the planned interruption is part of ongoing maintenance efforts to improve the reliability and quality of electricity supplied to customers in the affected areas.

The company advised residents, businesses and institutions within the affected locations to take note of the scheduled outage and make the necessary arrangements ahead of the exercise.

The notice stated: “ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery. This will result in a temporary outage.”

ECG apologised to customers in the affected communities for any inconvenience the exercise may cause.
