Attram De Visser snatch late win to claim third place in DOL Super Cup

Attram De Visser secured third place in the X1 DOL Super Cup after beating Nsuopun Fidelity 1-0 in a dramatic third-place playoff at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

The two teams entered the match after failing to reach the final following defeats in their respective semi-final games.

Nsuopun Fidelity were knocked out by Ebusua Dwarfs after a goalless draw in regulation time. Ebusua Dwarfs eventually won the contest 3-2 on penalties to book their place in the final.

Attram De Visser, meanwhile, suffered a painful 1-0 defeat to Semper Fi after conceding a late goal in the 90th minute of their semi-final encounter.

Determined to end the competition on a positive note, Attram De Visser started the third-place playoff strongly and created several chances during the opening half. However, they were unable to convert their opportunities as Nsuopun Fidelity held firm.

Nsuopun Fidelity improved after the break and began to put pressure on their opponents. Both teams continued to search for the opening goal, but neither side could find a way through before the end of the 90 minutes.

The match appeared destined for extra time as the referee indicated four minutes of additional time.

However, Attram De Visser produced a late moment of drama to settle the contest.

Thomas Okyere delivered a dangerous cross into the Nsuopun Fidelity penalty area, causing confusion among the defenders. In an attempt to deal with the delivery, Dickson Felix Kwakye Yeboah unfortunately turned the ball into his own net.

The own goal handed Attram De Visser a 1-0 victory and secured third place for the side.

The result also capped a strong attacking display by Attram De Visser throughout the tournament, with the team scoring six goals in the competition.
