Istanbul, Türkiye, has been confirmed as the host city for the 2027 Spanish Super Cup, with four of Spain’s top clubs set to compete for the trophy from February 2 to 7, 2027.
The tournament will be played at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, marking the first time Istanbul will host the Spanish Super Cup since the competition adopted its current four-team format.
The four participating teams are defending champions Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Real Sociedad. Barcelona qualified as LaLiga champions, while Real Madrid finished as runners-up.
Real Sociedad earned their place after winning the Copa del Rey, with Atlético Madrid qualifying as the cup runners-up.
The semi-final draw has produced two attractive ties. Barcelona will face Atlético Madrid, while Real Sociedad will take on Real Madrid.
The winners of the two matches will meet in the final on February 7. Kick-off times are yet to be confirmed.
The move to Istanbul is a temporary change from Saudi Arabia, which has hosted the competition since the current four-team format was introduced.
Saudi Arabia will host the Asian Cup from January 7 to February 5, 2027, making it difficult to stage the Spanish Super Cup there during the same period. The competition is expected to return to Saudi Arabia in 2028.
Barcelona will enter the tournament as the reigning champions after defeating Real Madrid in the 2026 final. The Catalan club has also won three of the last four editions of the competition.
