NACOC arrests 5 Central University students over cannabis-infused products

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested five students of Central University during a targeted operation over alleged drug-related activities on campus.

The suspects, made up of Level 100, 300, and 400 students, were picked up after intelligence reports linked them to the sale and distribution of cannabis and cannabis-infused products within the university community.

Preliminary investigations indicate the students were allegedly producing and selling cannabis-infused ice cream, sobolo, toffees, pepper, and eggs, in addition to dealing in raw cannabis.

During the operation, authorities retrieved quantities of suspected narcotic substances, which have since been seized for forensic testing as investigations continue.

NACOC says it remains committed to cracking down on drug-related activities in schools and has warned students against engaging in the use or trafficking of illegal substances.

The suspects are expected to assist with investigations as authorities work to identify other individuals connected to the alleged operation for possible prosecution.

Meanwhile, Central University has not yet commented on the incident.
