Real Tamale United bounce back with 4-1 win over Debibi United

Real Tamale United produced a strong response to their disappointing opening-day defeat by beating Debibi United 4-1 in their second Group A match in the 2026 X1 Division One League Super Cup at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

The Pride of the North entered the game under pressure after suffering a heavy 4-1 defeat to Ebusua Dwarfs in their opening fixture. However, they quickly put that result behind them with an impressive attacking display.

Abdul Rahim Lamale gave Real Tamale United the perfect start when he opened the scoring in the third minute. The early goal settled the team and gave them confidence as they continued to control the game.

Emmanuel Owusu then doubled RTU’s lead in the 25th minute, putting the Northern-based side firmly in control. They maintained their advantage until the half-time break with Debibi United unable to find a response.

Debibi United returned from the break with greater urgency and were rewarded in the 74th minute when Leslie Aryeetey pulled a goal back.

The goal appeared to give Debibi United hope of completing a comeback, but RTU quickly regained control.

Eight minutes later, Rahim Akanta converted a penalty in the 81st minute to restore Real Tamale United’s two-goal advantage. The strike also gave Akanta his second goal of the tournament.

RTU continued to push forward and added a fourth goal late in the match to complete a convincing 4-1 victory.
