Real Tamale United forward Rahim Akanta has emerged as the leading scorer in the X1 Division One League (DOL) Super Cup despite his team’s early exit from the competition.
Akanta has scored three goals in the tournament, making him the only player to have reached that mark so far. His goals have kept him at the top of the scoring chart even though Real Tamale United are no longer competing for the title.
The forward’s performance has been one of the notable individual highlights of the tournament, as he has shown his ability to find the back of the net despite his side’s elimination.
He is currently followed by Ebusua Dwarfs forward Godfred Eshun and Attram De Visser midfielder Thomas Okyere, who have each scored two goals.
Akanta’s position at the top of the scoring chart is particularly significant because his team’s campaign has already ended. His three goals, however, continue to put him in the spotlight as other teams battle for success in the Super Cup.
The X1 DOL Super Cup provides an important platform for players from Ghana’s Division One League to showcase their talent and compete against some of the best players in the division.
