The wife of Spanish international Marc Cucurella has reacted to the recent surprise move of her husband from Chelsea to Real Madrid, saying the situation has unfolded very quickly and has taken the family by surprise.
Speaking in an interview, Claudia Cucurella said the transfer talk came unexpectedly and that the family is still trying to process the situation while their focus remains on international duty at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“It all happened very quickly, we’re focused on the World Cup, we haven’t had time to process it yet. I’m very happy for him, he is happy,” she said.
Claudia Cucurella also described the situation as surprising but positive for the family, adding that both she and the player are pleased with how things are developing.
“It’s been a surprise for all of us but it’s great! I’m so happy, he is so happy!” she added.
In a notable personal revelation, she also confirmed her long-standing support for Real Madrid, saying her family influenced her football allegiance.
“I’ve always been a Real Madrid fan; I’ve always said it and never hidden it. My family made me a Real Madrid fan,” she said.
