Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has named a 24-man Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia, as well as an international friendly against Morocco.
The squad combines players who featured at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States with new faces and returning stars as Ghana begins preparations for the next AFCON campaign.
Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare retains his place in the squad alongside Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Anang.
France-based defender Nathaniel Adjei has also returned after nearly a year away from the national team. His recall follows an impressive run of form for Lorient in the French Ligue 1.
Jan Gyamerah of SV Elversberg and New York Red Bulls midfielder Ronald Donkor are also included after strong performances for their respective clubs.
One of the biggest boosts for the Black Stars is the return of Mohammed Kudus, who missed Ghana’s World Cup campaign because of injury. The West Ham star has recovered after spending seven months on the sidelines and is back in contention for the national team.
Ibrahim Osman of Brighton and Hove Albion and Sassuolo midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana have also returned to the squad.
Ghana will begin the busy international schedule against Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday, September 24.
The Black Stars will then host The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 29, before travelling to Morocco for a friendly against the Atlas Lions on Sunday, October 4.
