Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah is set to begin a new chapter in his career after reportedly agreeing a two-year contract with Turkish Super League club Trabzonspor.
The former Liverpool forward has arrived in Turkey to complete medical checks ahead of the expected move, with the club preparing to finalise the signing of one of the biggest names in world football.
Salah became a free agent after ending his successful nine-year spell with Liverpool, where he established himself as one of the club’s greatest players.
During his time at Anfield, the Egyptian attacker won major trophies including the UEFA Champions League and two Premier League titles, while also breaking several individual records.
The 34-year-old joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017 and went on to become a key figure in the club’s modern history.
He scored more than 250 goals for the Reds and played a major role in transforming the team into one of Europe’s strongest sides.
Reports indicate that Trabzonspor moved quickly to secure Salah’s services after he became available on a free transfer.
The Turkish club, which finished third in the league last season, is hoping the arrival of the Egyptian captain will strengthen its ambitions domestically and in European competition.
Salah’s move to Turkey comes after speculation linking him with several clubs, including teams from other European leagues and the Middle East.
However, Trabzonspor emerged as the club ready to offer him a new challenge after his departure from Liverpool.
