Ghana’s Black Starlets have stepped up preparations for their second international friendly against Morocco’s U17 side with an intensive training session ahead of Wednesday’s encounter.
The five-time FIFA U17 World Cup champions returned to full training on Monday after a recovery session on Sunday, following their impressive 2-0 victory over the Moroccan youngsters in the first of the two scheduled friendlies.
Coach Kassim Ocansey and his technical team increased the intensity of the session as they focused on improving the players’ physical conditioning, tactical organisation and attacking movements.
The technical team is also expected to use the second friendly to assess the squad further and give more players the opportunity to impress ahead of the upcoming WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.
The Black Starlets made a strong start to the series against Morocco, with Hope Agbasi putting Ghana ahead before Alidu Issah converted from the penalty spot to seal the 2-0 victory.
The result has provided a positive boost for the team as preparations continue for the regional competition, which will be crucial to Ghana’s hopes of returning to the continental stage.
The WAFU Zone B U17 Championship will serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2027 U17 Africa Cup of Nations, making the upcoming competition an important target for Ocansey and his players.
