Dr. Bawumia sends goodwill message to Black Stars

The former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has extended his best wishes to the Black Stars as Ghana embarks on its journey in the 2026 FIFA World Cup today.

The national team is set to compete in its opening match against Panama on Wednesday, June 17, in Toronto, Canada.

In a message of goodwill to the team, Dr. Bawumia characterised football as a unifying force that brings Ghanaians together and connects individuals globally.

“Football has always been a part of us as a nation, it has always united us, and it brings the world together,” he stated.

“As the Black Stars start their journey at the 2026 World Cup, I want to wish them the very best.”

Dr. Bawumia expressed confidence in the team’s ability to excel on the international stage and encouraged the players to draw motivation from their past successes.

“Black Stars, you have done it before, and you can do it again,” he remarked.

“The nation is behind you, and I am also behind you. Go Black Stars and go for gold.”
