Rodri has travelled to Barcelona to complete his medical and final procedures before putting pen to paper on a four-year contract with the La Liga champions.

The 30-year-old midfielder has reportedly been eager to return to Spain and chose Barcelona despite interest from other major European clubs, including Real Madrid.

His decision was influenced by Barcelona’s playing style and the opportunity to work with several Spanish international teammates.

Rodri leaves Manchester City after seven highly successful years at the Premier League club. He joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2019 and made 298 appearances, helping the team win four Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League and several other major trophies.

His most memorable moment at City came in the 2023 Champions League final, when he scored the winning goal against Inter Milan to deliver the club’s first European title.
