The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has directed Parliament to reconvene from its current recess to deal with what has been described as urgent parliamentary business.
According to a notice issued by the Office of the Speaker, the recall was made in accordance with Order 58(4) of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana.
The directive requires Members of Parliament to return to the House for a special sitting beginning at 12 noon on Monday, August 24, 2026. The sitting will continue until Friday, August 28, at Parliament House in Accra.
The recall means MPs will interrupt their recess to attend to matters that the Speaker considers urgent enough to require the attention of the House before the normal resumption of parliamentary proceedings.
