Poultry farmer counts losses after flood kills all chickens

A poultry farmer located in Dawhenya, within the Greater Accra Region, reported that only one of his chickens survived after floodwaters inundated his farm during the heavy rains on Monday.

The farmer indicated that nearly his entire flock was lost due to the flooding, resulting in significant financial losses for his business.

In a video posted on social media, he reached out to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other governmental bodies for assistance.

“I have lost almost all my birds. Only one survived the flooding. I am appealing to the government and NADMO to support me so I can recover from this disaster,” he stated.

This incident took place as intense rainfall caused flooding in various areas of Greater Accra, impacting homes, businesses, and other properties.
