The National Service Authority (NSA) has released postings for 70,072 National Service Personnel as the first batch for the 2026/2027 national service year.
The postings were released on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, after the Authority completed the initial validation and registration processes for prospective personnel.
According to the NSA, 149,907 prospective personnel were submitted for registration. Out of this number, 95,689 were successfully verified, while 95,197 completed the registration process.
The 70,072 personnel in the first batch can now check their postings on the NSA website and proceed with the required regional validation.
The regional validation and registration exercise will begin on Thursday, October 1, and end on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
“Registration for the 2026/2027 National Service Year commences tomorrow, Thursday, 1st October 2026, and ends on Thursday, 15th October 2026,” the Authority said in a statement signed by its Director-General, Ruth Dela Sedoh.
The NSA said all personnel are expected to report to their assigned departments, institutions and agencies from Monday, October 5, 2026, to begin their national service.
The Authority also announced that monthly evaluation forms for personnel in the subvented category will be available on its portal from the 15th to the 20th of every month.
These forms are required for the completion and submission of monthly evaluations, which are linked to the payment of allowances.
For October 2026, however, the forms will remain available until October 25.
The NSA also reminded prospective personnel that national service is a legal requirement for eligible persons.
Under Section 29(1) of the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), a person qualifies to undertake national service if they are a Ghanaian citizen who has completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution.
The Authority further warned employers against employing people who are required to undertake national service but have not completed it, unless they are legally exempted.
Employers who fail to comply with the requirement could face an administrative penalty of 5,000 penalty units. Persons who secure employment without completing their national service may also be directed to undertake the service.
The NSA added that the Registrar of Companies will not register the company, partnership or business name of a person who is required to undertake national service but has not done so, unless the person is exempted under the law.
The Authority has urged all prospective personnel to complete their registration and validation on time and report to their assigned institutions as required to ensure a smooth start to the 2026/2027 national service year.
