New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant for the Asante Mampong Constituency, Beatrice Owarewa Siaw, popularly known as Nana Yaa, has reportedly died.
A close source said Nana Yaa died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The cause and circumstances surrounding her death have not yet been disclosed.
Nana Yaa was a prominent businesswoman, philanthropist and member of the NPP Council of Patrons. She had been actively campaigning for the party’s parliamentary ticket in Asante Mampong.
Her campaign focused on industrialisation, job creation and youth empowerment in the constituency.
She had also claimed to have invested more than GH¢40 billion in the constituency as part of her efforts to support local development.
The NPP and her family have not yet officially confirmed the reports of her death.
