John Boadu pledges NPP unity and stronger structures ahead of 2028 elections

Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman John Boadu has pledged to strengthen party unity and organisational structures as the party prepares for the 2028 general election.

John Boadu committed when he led the party’s newly elected national executives to pay a courtesy call on former President John Agyekum Kufuor to formally introduce the new leadership and seek his guidance.

He said the meeting gave the executives an opportunity to benefit from the former president’s political experience and knowledge of the NPP as they begin their tenure.

According to Mr Boadu, Kufuor’s longstanding association with the party and dedication to its founding principles make his advice important to efforts to rebuild and strengthen the party.

He said the delegation approached the engagement with humility, recognising the responsibility that comes with leading the NPP at a critical point in its political journey.

Mr Boadu added that the new leadership was determined to preserve the party’s legacy while promoting unity, strengthening its grassroots structures and encouraging collective efforts towards electoral success.

He expressed confidence that a united party with effective organisational structures would be better positioned to compete in the 2028 general election.

The NPP elected its new national executives at a delegates’ conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, marking the beginning of a new phase in the party’s leadership.

The new executives are expected to lead the party’s organisational and political activities as it works to regain power in the next general election.

The engagement with Mr Kufuor forms part of the leadership’s efforts to draw on the experience of senior party figures as it maps out its direction ahead of the 2028 polls.
