The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the formation of its Standing and Sector Committees following a resolution made by its National Executive Committee and National Council.

This decision was reached during a meeting convened on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the party’s constitution.

A statement issued by Justin Kodua Frimpong, General Secretary of the NPP, from the party’s headquarters in Accra-North on May 8, 2026, indicated that the Standing Committees were established under Article 10(2)(6), while the Sector Committees were created in compliance with Articles 10(3)(8) and 14(5) of the party constitution.

The party has stated that seven Standing Committees and 23 Sector Committees have been formed as part of initiatives to enhance internal coordination, fortify governance structures, and improve operational efficiency.

The party clarified that this restructuring aims to bolster its organisational activities and ensure effective management of its internal affairs.

Among the significant committees announced is the Finance Committee, which will be responsible for overseeing the party’s financial management and resource mobilisation efforts.

The Finance Committee is led by Fred Oware, with Dr. Charles Dwamena acting as Secretary. Other members include Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Nana Adwoa Dokua, William Oppong-Bio, Irene Naa Torshie Addo, Abena Osei Asare, Ambassador Edward Boateng, Joseph Ampomah Bosompem, Adelaide Ahwireng, and Alhassan Yakubu Tali.
