Adwoa Safo endorses Akofena as leader of Kristo Asafo Church

Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has expressed her support for her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, as members of the Kantanka family seek to resolve longstanding differences and preserve the legacy of their late father, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo.

In a statement released on Thursday, October 8, 2026, Sarah Adwoa Safo said the family should set aside previous disputes and concentrate on protecting the principles, values and vision their father left behind.

She explained that she had consciously opted for reconciliation and remained committed to restoring unity among the family members.

“I have chosen the path of reconciliation, founded upon love, mutual respect and the enduring undisputed bonds of family,” she said.

She also openly endorsed Israel Kwadwo Safo, recognising him as the Leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asfo Church, in accordance with what she said were their father’s wishes.

“He has my full support, and I state unequivocally that I am prepared and willing to work together with him in the interest of the family and the Church, in furtherance of our father’s Vision and Legacy,” she said.

Sarah Adwoa Safo stressed that protecting their father’s legacy was a shared duty among his children and should not be placed solely on one individual.

“Our father’s legacy transcends any one individual. It is a collective inheritance and a profound responsibility entrusted to us, as his children, and it is a charge we must keep and hold on to, dearly,” she said.

She called on the family to put their disagreements behind them and protect the institutions and principles Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo established throughout his lifetime.

She further appealed to members of the Kristo Asfo Church, the broader Kantanka family and all others associated with their father’s work to acknowledge the importance of maintaining unity within the family.

“Let us embrace this new chapter with reconciliation, fraternity and a shared sense of purpose,” she said.

Sarah Adwoa Safo ended her statement by wishing Israel Kwadwo Safo and her other siblings well as they begin what she described as a renewed path towards peace and forgiveness.

“May this new chapter bring healing, unity and renewed strength as we come together to honour and advance the legacy of our beloved father,” she said.
