Four family members have reportedly died in a devastating fire at Apemanim Number Two in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region.
The incident occurred around 2am on Thursday, October 1, when a fire broke out at the family’s residence, trapping those inside.
Eyewitnesses and other residents at the scene tried to rescue the occupants and put out the flames, but their efforts were unsuccessful as the fire rapidly spread through the building.
The deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Kwesi, his wife, Maa Abena, and their two children, a four-year-old and a three-week-old baby. All four reportedly perished in the fire.
An eyewitness said residents made attempts to extinguish the flames and save the family, but could not succeed.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The bodies of the four victims have since been conveyed to a mortuary as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
