Hansi Flick’s Barcelona have made a record-breaking start to the 2026/27 season after winning their opening seven matches in all competitions.
Barcelona completed the historic run on Wednesday with a 7-2 victory over Racing Santander at Camp Nou. The result gave Flick seven wins from seven games, the first time Barcelona have achieved such a start in the club’s history.
The Catalan giants have also been prolific in front of goal, scoring 33 times in their first seven competitive matches. Their tally includes 28 goals in six La Liga games and five in the Champions League.
The latest victory was led by Raphinha, who scored a hat-trick against Racing Santander. João Cancelo, Gabriel Jesus and Lamine Yamal also found the net, while an own goal completed Barcelona’s seven-goal haul.
Barcelona’s six consecutive La Liga victories have given them 18 points and placed them at the top of the table. They have also set a new club record for goals scored after six league matches, surpassing the previous mark of 23 goals.
Flick’s side had previously matched the club record of six straight wins at the start of a season, a mark achieved in 1929/30, 1960/61 and 2018/19. The victory over Racing moved the current team beyond those sides.
The impressive start has also seen Barcelona score at least four goals in five of their seven matches.
Flick will now look to extend the winning run when Barcelona travel to face Sevilla on Saturday, September 19.
