The Ministry of Education has announced its intention to establish a Technical Working Committee to review the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) after completion of the ongoing placement exercise.
Through a statement released on Tuesday, September 15, the Ministry indicated that the examination will evaluate all aspects of the placement procedure and pinpoint domains that would benefit from enhancement.
The Ministry stated that the initiative will aim to bolster openness and responsibility throughout the framework and offer suggestions to enhance the placement procedure.
According to the Ministry, the examination is designed to guarantee that the CSSPS maintains its standing as a trustworthy, productive, impartial and adaptable system that addresses the requirements of learners, guardians and educational institutions.
“The Ministry recognises the need for continuous improvement and strengthening of the system. Following the conclusion of the current placement exercise, the Ministry will establish a Technical Working Committee to undertake a comprehensive review of the placement process,” the statement said.
The declaration emerges in response to escalating apprehensions regarding obstacles that guardians and learners encounter throughout the placement procedure, including appeals from the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference requesting heightened openness and responsibility in the CSSPS.
