Experienced Ghanaian referee Daniel Laryea has been appointed to officiate the 2026 Champion of Champions match between Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC and MTN FA Cup winners Nations FC.
The highly anticipated fixture is scheduled to take place at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa on Sunday, August 30, 2026, with kick-off set for 3:00 p.m.
Laryea will lead a team of match officials for the game as the two domestic champions battle for the first major piece of silverware of the new football season.
He will be assisted by Roland Addy as Assistant I and Theophilus Akugre as Assistant II. Gideon Nii-Cofie has been appointed as the Fourth Referee, while Alex Kotey will serve as the Match Commissioner.
The match will bring together the winners of Ghana’s two major domestic competitions from the 2025/26 season.
Medeama secured the Ghana Premier League title after an impressive campaign, earning the right to represent the league in the Champion of Champions contest.
Nations FC, meanwhile, claimed the MTN FA Cup and will be looking to continue their strong run by defeating the league champions.
The Champion of Champions is traditionally used as a curtain-raiser for Ghana’s domestic football season. It gives the winners of the previous Premier League and FA Cup competitions an opportunity to compete for another trophy while offering fans an early look at the teams ahead of the new season.
