Minority files motion to probe alleged GoldBod losses

The minority in Parliament has once again submitted a motion to the Speaker of Parliament requesting an investigation into the Gold for Reserve Scheme.

According to the Minority in Parliament, the investigation should encompass its design, implementation, governance, financial performance, environmental and public health implications, as well as any related matters.

They are urging the investigating committee to examine, among other things, the reported foreign exchange losses incurred by the Bank of Ghana in relation to the scheme, the roles of pertinent State institutions, the integrity of supply-chain due diligence and traceability systems, the risk of acquiring illegally sourced gold, and the accountability issues that arise from these matters.
