Two suspected armed robbers arrested over violent attacks in Ashaiman

The Ashaiman Police Command has apprehended two individuals suspected of armed robbery in relation to distinct violent robbery incidents occurring in Ashaiman and its neighbouring areas.

The suspects, named Nii Adjei and Selasie, are thought to be affiliated with a criminal organisation responsible for a series of assaults on residents within the municipality.

According to police reports, one such incident took place on May 27, 2026, when the suspects allegedly attacked a woman named Akosua Dwomo as she was attempting to enter a vehicle.

The assailants reportedly brandished machetes, knives, and a pair of scissors during the assault, causing injuries to the victim before stealing her personal belongings.

In another incident, a 23-year-old man known as Danquah was reportedly ambushed by the two suspects along with approximately 20 other young men.

During this attack, Danquah suffered cutlass injuries to one of his fingers before the suspects allegedly fled with his mobile phone and GH¢1,600 in cash.

The two suspects are presently in police custody, cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have stated that efforts are underway to locate and apprehend additional members of the gang believed to have been involved in the attacks.
