Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has set his sights on a historic third consecutive UEFA Champions League title, challenging his players to match one of the greatest achievements in European club football.
PSG have already made history by winning the Champions League in two successive seasons. They defeated Inter Milan in the 2025 final before overcoming Arsenal on penalties in Budapest in May 2026 to retain the trophy.
UEFA confirms that PSG became only the second club in the modern Champions League era to win the competition in consecutive seasons, after Real Madrid.
With that achievement behind them, Luis Enrique believes his team now has an opportunity to go one step further and equal Real Madrid’s record of three straight Champions League triumphs.
“We can equal Real Madrid by winning three Champions Leagues in a row,” the Spanish coach said.
“Nobody has won three consecutive Champions Leagues except Real Madrid. We can equal them.”
Real Madrid achieved the feat under Zinedine Zidane, winning the competition in 2016, 2017 and 2018. PSG can now become only the second club in history to achieve the same run.
Luis Enrique is confident that his players have the motivation required to handle the challenge. He believes the desire to create another historic moment will make PSG extremely difficult to beat.
“I don’t think there is a single team in Europe more motivated than us,” he said.
The French champions enter the new campaign with considerable confidence after another successful season.
