The Municipal Chief Executive of Birim Central, Solomon Kusi Brako, has expressed his approval of the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s decision to investigate the allegations of bribery and illegal mining made against him.
He stated that he is open to any investigation that would help clear his name regarding these accusations.
In an interview with Accra-based United Television, Solomon Kusi Brako emphasized that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) came into power with a commitment to combat corruption, and as a public official, it is essential for him to contribute to this fight against corruption.
“It is welcome news. What I know is that if you avail yourself to work in the public office, you have to agree that you can be investigated while in office and even when you are out of office. If the special prosecutor can investigate this matter, it will bring an end to the baseless and unfounded allegations that have soiled my image in the past year.
“I have no problem with the investigation, and as a leader who does not support corruption, I am all for it. The NDC and President Mahama were voted into office to help fight corruption, so if there are calls for investigations into the work I do, it is a good step,” he stated.
Regarding the videos in which he allegedly cursed the Member of Parliament, he refuted the claims, clarifying that he merely called upon the gods to intervene and reveal the truth.
