Eight people, including four children, sustained injuries after a passenger vehicle overturned on the Tema Akosombo Highway following a rear tyre burst.
The incident occurred at Teye-Kwame on Thursday, August 6. It was attended to by personnel from the Kpong Fire Station, according to the Eastern Regional Public Relations Office of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The GNFS said the accident involved a Toyota Hiace passenger vehicle whose driver reportedly lost control after one of the rear tyres burst, causing the vehicle to somersault.
Firefighters rescued all eight occupants, four adults and four children, from the wreckage before handing them over to emergency medical personnel.
The injured victims were transported to King’s and Queens Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been officially disclosed.
